MMA ANNUAL JULY RETREAT
July 28-30, 2011
Near St. James, Missouri
Make plans now to attend the Missouri Midwives Association's annual Retreat. This is our time to sit back, visit with old friends, meet new friends and increase midwifery knowledge through shared education sessions.
Plan to come connect with other Midwives and share your wisdom! Please pre register if possible but not required. Just come if you can!

Thursday, July 28, 2011
• 2:00 – 5:00 pm IV and Blood Draw Skills Workshops - Rachel Williston, CNM, CPM and Corina Hossle, CPM Student. Concurrent sessions. Time available to learn/practice one or both skills. Supplies provided for pre-registered participants ($10 fee per workshop).
• 6:00 pm Dinner/ice breaker activity
• 7:00 pm Vaginal Breech Birth – highlights from recent Conference
• 8:00 pm Peer Review (Providers only) – Linsey Kornya, CPM
• Birth videos/free time for all other retreat attendees

• 10:30 - Postpartum Pelvic Floor Health/Fixing Uterine Prolapse Without Surgery – Allison Dougherty, CPM Student, NASM Corrective Exercise Specialist and Mary Ueland, CPM
• 12:00 - Lunch/Written Survey on Placentas in Your Practice
• 1:00-2:30pm – Anti-hemorrhagic meds – What, Why, When, Dosages, Contraindications - Melodie Stocks, DO, OB/GYN
• 3:00 – 4:30 pm - MMA Meeting and Elections (plus a little fun!)
• 5:00 pm – Dinner + Legislative Discussion: Planning for next year
• 7:00 – Gather around to listen to and tell birth stories!

Lap babies welcome. Mobile children with private care providers welcome. Retreat is at a spacious home, beds available, first-come-first served, plenty of floor space. Campers and tents welcome.
Scholarship and work exchange are available to those in need. Don't let finances keep you from attending the retreat! Contact Treasurer@MissouriMidwivesAssociation.org if you are interested in scholarship and/or work exchange.
Bring: Bedding, pillow, towel; snacks & treats; a video; a chart, story or question for peer review.
