The ethical practice of midwifery includes accountability to clients and others midwives. Accountability is taking responsibility for ones decisions and actions. Midwives at every level of education and professional experience are encouraged to enroll in the voluntary MMA Accountability Program.

The Accountability Review Board oversees the Missouri Midwives Accountability Program. Participating midwives submit the following to the Board for annual review:

  • Code of Ethics agreement
  • Continuing Education and Peer Review units
  • Statistical Summary and Self Assessment forms
  • Practice Guidelines
  • Informed Consent and Grievance Disclosure documents
